DataSpark Tech LLC (“DataSpark Tech,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the MyHealthyGlucose mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or otherwise using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google, through Firebase Authentication, to create and secure your account.
Health and wellness information you provide. The App is designed for you to log personal health information, including blood glucose readings, HbA1c results, food and carbohydrate intake, medication names, dosages, and adherence, and daily wellness goals (such as water intake and activity). This information is entered voluntarily by you.
Barcode lookups. When you use the barcode scanner, the scanned product code is sent to Open Food Facts, an independent open database, to retrieve nutrition information. No account or personal information is included in that request.
We use the information described above to: operate and maintain the App’s core features (glucose, food, and medication tracking); sync your data across your devices when you are signed in; generate reports and summaries you choose to export; and provide customer support when you contact us. We do not use your health information for advertising, and the App does not contain third-party advertising or ad-tracking technology.
We use the following service providers to operate the App. Each processes data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments:
Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore and is associated with your authenticated account. Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Access to your stored data is restricted so that only you, authenticated through your Google account, can read or write your own records. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We do not sell your personal or health information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of DataSpark Tech, our users, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy continuing to apply to your information.
You may access, correct, export (via the in-app Report feature), or delete the information you have entered into the App at any time by editing or removing entries directly in the App. To request deletion of your account and associated cloud data, or to exercise other privacy rights available to you under applicable law (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, other U.S. state privacy laws, or the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation), contact us at connect@datasparktech.com. We will respond to verified requests within the timeframe required by applicable law.
We retain your account and health data for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide the App’s features. If you request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
MyHealthyGlucose is a personal logging tool and is not a medical device, and DataSpark Tech LLC is not a healthcare provider. The App is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and nutrition, barcode-derived, and “healthy/unhealthy” guidance shown in the App is provided for general informational purposes only. Always consult a qualified physician or healthcare professional regarding any medical condition, medication, or treatment decision. The App is not a HIPAA-covered entity or business associate.
The App is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Our service providers may process and store information in the United States or other countries. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to, and processed in, countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
